Makedisc 1.0 is an ISO 9660 CD-ROM formatter which automatically providesfor the transparent recovery of original UNIX file names and symboliclinks. Users can professionally produce, format, and test their own CD-ROM disc images in-house before sending them to a CD-ROM discmanufacturing facility.Makedisc offers exceptional ease-of-use, utilizing only a single commandline to create an ISO 9660 disc image. NFS-accessible network resourcescan be used for source files or output, while little overhead is neededfor intermediate files. In contrast to current DOS-based systems thatrequire dedicated hardware, Makedisc can be used on most existinghardware configurations. Computers capable of reading ISO 9660 standarddiscs include those operating under MS-DOS, Macintosh, and UNIX operatingenvironments.
